The way I see it, saying romantic friendship is like 'a subcategory' to homosexuality or at least 'the stepchild' of lesbianism is the general equivalent of saying Belle's intense romantic love for the Beast is like 'a subcategory' to bestiality or at least 'the stepchild' of zoophilia erotica.
